Motivational, Inspirational and Educational is what audiences are saying about Juli Alvarado!
Coaching For Life and The National Institute for Trauma Informed Care have merged under Coaching For Life and is a private organization based in Denver, Colorado. Our focus is on individual as well as organizational coaching, support, education, service delivery and program consultation in the areas of life healing, trauma and children in child welfare.
Mission: The mission of Coaching For Life is to encourage world wide healing, one person at a time, through emotionally charged and researched-based paradigms in healing for all. This is achieved via life coaching for individuals, as well as trauma informed, effective, organizational education and practice development in child welfare providing for an increased opportunity toward permanency for all maltreated and traumatized children. We endeavor to improve the healthy functioning of all individuals, families and child welfare systems that care for, educate, nurture, protect and raise these children through integrated, trauma informed coaching, training, consultation, service delivery and program development.
Strategy: Collaboration between child welfare, educational, judicial, mental health and community organizations is essential to the success for children who have suffered maltreatment and are now in the child welfare system. Each sector must maintain their distinct focus; however the identification of best and trauma informed practice will serve to improve the integrated plan for each child involved in multiple systems. It is incumbent upon each of us to define optimal means of providing resources to parents who care for these children, educators who teach these children and professionals who hold life changing decisions in their control for these children. All relationships to these children must take on a healing paradigm and transformational nature through a deeper understanding of trauma and child development. Coaching For Life will work endlessly to that end.

20 years of working in child welfare and research in trauma, attachment and emotional regulation have resulted in our model, Emotional Regulatory Healing, ERH. ERH has provided an effective healing paradigm for individual, couple and family clients, as well as for child welfare professionals, executives and parents who are frustrated with ineffective management, supervision, therapy and parenting models for our most challenging children. ERH is based on the most recent and reliable research in the field of neurosciences and mind/body/spirit healing available today and draws from child development, neurophysiological development, the manifestation of trauma and lack of healthy attachment for children and adults.
Understanding the complexities of behavior, the impact of trauma, and emotional regulation is at the core of all that we do, all that we teach, and all that our entire staff lives. We invite you to review our entire site where you will find information on our highly successful, motivational and educational trainings, coaching and consultation programs and further information on Emotional Regulatory Healing.
The Coaching For Life Primary Team: Juli Alvarado, Dr. Sheryl Gonzalez Ziegler and Jennifer Winkelmann.
The incidence of individual and family dysfunction and suffering, as well as the incidences of childhood trauma and maltreatment is rising in our society and every sector is affected by this complex and multidimensional problem. Therefore coaching For life has brought these experts together as an advisory group, as well as a practice group, yet each member also maintains their primary career through private practice or in affiliation with other clinical and or child welfare organizations. This is a highly united group bound by a common vision guided by Juli Alvarado to work together toward increased healing for all, and increased permanency for all of ‘our’ children.
CFL and NITIC History: Founder and lead clinical consultant, Juli Alvarado, began her career in 1981 in the public education system as a special education teaching assistant while completing her bachelor degree in elementary education. It was in this position that she became acutely aware of the emotional dysfunction of many children in the public programs, yet the inability of the staff to reach these children at any meaningful level that might compliment their academic success. She went on to complete her bachelor’s degree in education and psychology at the University of Colorado at Boulder while working in corporate America as a supervisor and then division director in training, consultation and leadership development. Juli and her husband Miguel were married in 1989 and moved to CA where Miguel completed his medical internship and residency at the University of California, Los Angeles and then Irvine. While in CA Juli began her master’s degree training in child psychology with a double in consulting and human resource management. During that period she also worked in an inpatient psychiatric hospital caring for children and adolescents maintained on the locked units. Juli completed her masters degree after returning to Colorado, at the University of Colorado, in both psychology and business development. In the subsequent 15 years Juli has worked in, and consulted for private and public sector mental health and child welfare agencies, public education and special education programs, inpatient psychiatric hospital care as well as residential care for youth and adults, as well as maintaining executive level positions for nation wide foster care programs and training organizations, before branching off into her own, Coaching For Life.
CFL was initially formed in 2004 as a training and coaching program primarily for clinicians, foster and adoptive parents facing the challenge of raising traumatized and attachment challenged children in the child welfare system. Juli’s ability to captivate an audience with her content as well as her charisma, and to teach in an enjoyable manner information that can be seen as complex and confusing has propelled her to the top of the requested trainers list nationally. Her organization has grown exponentially over the past several years into a nation wide, full consulting and training firm. Juli and her entire team maintain the dedication to helping understand and serve high-risk children through assessment and treatment, curriculum, training and program development, as well as direct consultation to executive and management level groups, parents, clinicians, judges, law enforcement officers, educators, caseworkers, psychologists, pediatricians, psychiatrists, foster parents, early childhood specialists and interested parties in more effective and advanced healing paradigms for some of our most vulnerable children.
Coaching For Life and NITIC have more recently merged in order to meet the growing demand for outcomes based research, training and program development in non-medical models of trauma informed care and cross–agency collaborations. We look forward to present and future impact of child welfare policy on a state by state as well as national basis, and to providing distance learning for any parent or professional looking to expand their understanding and skill in the newer paradigms of healing for maltreated children and families.
Juli and her entire coaching staff continue to provide emotional regulatory healing life coaching for individuals and family clients seeking increased peace, harmony and joy in life, internationally. Please contact us if you are in search of Life coaching for you or your family. Most important in the history of this work is the past 15 years that Juli and her husband Miguel have provided treatment foster care in their home, along with their 4 biological children. Working to create, maintain and foster loving relationships with more than 30 high level needs children, their entire support teams and the community at large while in the midst of challenging family situations has provided the opportunity for growth, understanding, emotional development and increasingly regulated parenting paradigms that have provided successful outcomes with even the most challenging of children.
