Integrative healing; what is it anyway??
As a therapist, a teacher, a consultant and as a friend, as a parent or partner; as a human in relationship to others I must admit that there are two foundational assumptions underlying all that I do and believe and have become, at least to date.
One is that I make no distinction between the mind/body/spirit, they are fully connected in neurophysiological, emotional and spiritual terms; and the other is that there is no distinction between the process of achieving spiritual growth and achieving mental/emotional growth. They are one in the same.
You can not give away that which you do not already possess. Whether you are working to improve outcomes in your line of work, or relationship to your children or partner; whether you are working to become a truly trauma informed and trauma senstive organization and emotionally regulated person, internal and integrative healing for you must come first.
Integrative healing is an understanding that we can not, simply can not achieve healing in one part of our system without including the others. I am speaking about organizational systems, family systems and our individual systems.
A quiet mind, a calm body, and a tranquil spirit allow for the integrative process of ongoing healing to occur for each of us, allowing each of us to become a true teacher of others longing for the same.
What you say has little impact relative to how you live. Learn well, live well and teach well.
Work today toward integrative healing for you first, the rest will come.
For today, Peace~
